Terms of Service

Effective date: July 5, 2026

1. Purpose and Definition of the Service

These Terms govern the conditions and procedures for using Scangredi (the "Service") and the rights and obligations of users and the operator. The Service is a PWA that reads images of food ingredient labels captured or uploaded by users using AI (Google Gemini) and provides ingredient explanations and reference information tailored to personas such as diet, pregnancy, growth, and allergy.

2. Conditions of Use

3. Prohibited Conduct

4. Nature of AI Reading Results

The ingredient explanations, recommendations/cautions, and allergen information provided by the Service are reference information generated by AI and are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or up to date. Because AI may misread or omit information, final decisions must always follow the physical label and professional advice. In particular, allergy-related information may be life-critical, so the Service must not be used as the sole basis for judgment. See the Disclaimer for details.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from the use or inability to use this free Service or from reliance on AI reading results. The Service is provided "as-is."

6. Introduction of Paid Services

Login (Google OAuth / email OTP) and paid features in the form of credits or passes may be introduced in the future. Upon introduction of paid services, matters concerning fees, payment (processed via Polar), and refunds shall be governed by a separate Refund Policy and updated Terms. Any transition to paid use will be subject to prior notice and the user's consent.

7. Changes to the Terms

The operator may revise these Terms as needed and will announce changes within the Service along with the effective date. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and the court having jurisdiction over the operator's location shall be the court of first instance for any dispute related to the Service. (Governing law and jurisdiction require final review before official launch.)
